Croatia is a country in eastern Europe which was formed after the independence of ,Yugoslavia). It began being recognized as a country in 1992. It has a population of 5 million inhabitants. The capital is Zagreb. It borders with the Adriatic sea to it´s west, Slovenia and Hungary to the north and Boznia to the south. It also has a small part that borders with Serbia.

Croatia is a country with tragic memories from the last years of the 20th century. War is never a good thing, and in this country it left a huge mark. A decade later they have finally recovered and live peacefully. The official language is croatian which is a slavic language, english however is also spoken.

It´s main attraction is the spectacular 5000kms of beach and coast between the contintental croatia and the islands. They are definately an important heritage, 1,000 islands just for them. Only about 100 of them are inhabited. The most popular tourist spots are the coast of Dalmatia and the Istria Penninsula. The south and the north of the country.

Incredible beaches, natural environment, national parks, accomodations that have been growing due to the increasing tourist demand, and a great variety of new hotels, apartments and hostels. Croatia is growing, the main reason is it´s beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters and great climate and sunshine that make this a very desirable tourist hot spot. Nonetheless the chemical industry and the naval industry are also a great influence in the economic growth of this country, that aspires to join the European Union by 2010.

So what are you waiting for? Places like Dubrovnik "the marbella of the balcans", Split or the Istra Penninsula are waiting for you. You can charter a yacht with or without a skipper and take a cruise around the more than 200 islands.
