Dubrovnik is located in the Adriatic Sea in the southeast of the country. It is considered the Pearl of the Adriatic, for it's quality beaches. It is situated in the Dalmatian coast, one of the most important spots in Croatia due to it's great location and for the great quality it shows it's increasing tourism.
The Renaissance, the gothic art and the barroque churches are just another part of the lovely scenery that makes this country so emblamatic. It is declared world heritage by the UNESCO. Dubrovnik is a croatian city locate in the Dalmatian Coast. It is one of the most important tourist locations in Croatia. It has a population of 50,000 inhabitants. A fortressed city that is very enchanting.
The city of Dubrovnik was born between a fusion of two great cities which were Dubrava and Laus. It's first name was Ragusa. The maritime commerce was it's main economic source during the first centuries, a prosperous city that watched in the year 1991 how the serbians destroyed it completely and caused a great depression that was seen throughout the entire Dalmatian Coast.
After the war the city picked up the ashes and began it's reconstruction, and began it's way to become once again a tourist destination, and to be once again the main attraction of the Adriatic. Today Dubrovnik is once again a main interest spot to go on holidays. |
